BP have sealed the leak of oil into the Gulf of Mexico.
Engineers say that there is a risk of pressure building up and rupturing the pipe at a different point but are optimistic that they now have the time to complete drilling the second well which will completely isolate the damaged area.

BP oil may get into the Atlantic ocean
The US National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) has warned that the oil from the BP leak may be taken into the Atlantic ocean by the local currents.

Carbon Capture and Storage extended to fossil fuel power stations
The Committee on Climate Change (CCC) has advised the UK government to consider extending the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) competition to include gas as well as coal demonstration projects.
They have also suggested that the proposed Emissions Performance Standard is extended to include new gas plants that are commissioned from 2020.

BP Oil catastrophe
BP report that they have two systems in place which are collecting oil and gas (BP).
The first system is collecting the oil and flaring the gas. The second is flaring both oil and gas.
